Head to The Beach

Metrolink offers weekend trains from the Inland Empire to Laguna Niguel.

Metrolink will again offer what the agency bills as "wildly popular'" extra weekend trains to Orange County's southern beaches this summer, officials have announced.

Starting July 2, an extra weekend round-trip will be added along the "91 Line,'" which goes from the Inland Empire to Laguna Niguel. An extra train will also run from Fullerton to Laguna Niguel as a part of that change.

And starting July 7, Metrolink will add four summer round-trips on Saturdays and Sundays from Los Angeles Union Station to Oceanside, with stops a shuttle bus away from Disneyland, and along the beaches in southern Orange County.

Extra trains will also run from San Bernardino through Riverside to San Clemente and Oceanside.

Fares are simple and cheaper than some oceanside parking lots: adults pay $10 for a weekend pass. Information and schedules are at metrolinktrains.com .
