I'm curious to see if Farley and the Board actually utilize all 3 prongs as they attempt to…Read More reconcile this year's budget. Meaning will they actually include the "Prong" that lowers class size, or will they only use the other two prongs. It seems to me that over the last couple of years when money was tighter the Board always/easily included the class size prong to raise class size as they made cuts from the budget. Now, let's hope that they don't forget about the class size prong as a budget option to lower class sizes now that more money is headed their way. I would be ashamed of them if they were using the phrase "We want to lower class sizes and add school days back to the calendar" as a form of positive PR, rather than to actually do the right thing.
fact checker: 4 year olds should really be considered pre-kindergarten & should not be admitted…Read More to a kindergarten. I have seen the 1/2 day program first hand, in the classroom during the school day, and have seen a few children who slip through the learning opportunities because they are generalized. A lot of the time it is the much younger children in the class. developmentally they are not ready. Maybe if CA used a better portion of the 9.45% (highest in the nation) income tax they siphon from us on every paycheck towards education - the future decision makers in this state will have the know how to rid CA of their debt & understand that education is a PRIORITY & as Americans we need to look at it as such.
I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't click…Read More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.
