First Yellowtail Caught in Dana Point

Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching fishing trip nets big catch for anglers on Tuesday.

A guest of Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching in Dana Point caught the first Yellowtail of the season on June 5, according to Donna Kalez.

"It was caught on our 3/4 day fishing trip down by San Onofre as you can see from the domes in the back ground," said General Manager Kalez. "The first local yellowtail was caught by angler Nick Dinh of Orange and he was fishing on the popular 3/4 day fishing boat Sum Fun. This is great news for anglers who have been waiting for a good season and the warm water which is currently 67 degrees should make more fish like this show up."
