Follow a Dana Point Basketball Star in the NCAA Tournament

March Madness brings 68 college teams into the center of the sports universe. See what former prep stars are playing in the Big Dance.

Of all the college students headed for "March Madness," one is a local standout.

Dana Point resident Katin Reinhardt is a freshman for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels, where he averages 9.8 points per game.

According to the university, UNLV, which earned its fourth consecutive bid and 20th overall, will travel to San Jose, Calif., to face the University of California at HP Pavilion in its opening round game of the 2013 Division I NCAA Men's Basketball Championship on Thursday, March 21. Tipoff is scheduled for approximately 4:27 p.m. PT on truTV.

Reinhardt graduated Mater Dei in June, where he was the LA Time's player of the year. In high school, he averaged 18.6 points per game, 2.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds, according to MaxPreps.
