Dana Hills Girls' Tennis Celebrate Senior Day with Blowout Win Over El Toro

The Lady Dolphins leap to an 18-0 win over the Lady Chargers while also celebrating all the senior players on the team.

Coach Justin Green started the tradition of celebrating the senior players on the girls varsity tennis team three years ago and this year's celebration on Thursday, Oct. 11 was a special day for the whole team with an 18-0 squashing of El Toro.

Except for one substitution for a singles set with junior AJ Gomer, the other 17 sets were played by all of the senior members of the team. Donning matching pink shirts and knee-high socks, the seniors where all smiles and winning shots, with only one tight set, Courtney Reid at No. 2 singles, had a set point at 5-4, but L. Paglialonga (ET) held and the set was eventually decided in a tie-breaker which Reid was able to close out at 8-6, giving the Dolphins the 18-0 sweep.

Coach Green was again fighting back his emotions: "I've know most of these girls a long time and although I'm proud of all of them, saying good bye is going to be tough."
