Del Prado Cafe Closed for Cockroach Infestation

Cockroaches and an absence of hot water closed the cafe on Del Prado in Dana Point.

The Bonjour Cafe at 24633 Del Prado in Dana Point was briefly closed this month after health inspectors found both dead and live cockroaches in the restaurant's kitchen.

On Nov. 8 inspectors found four live roaches behind the wall along with "numerous" dead roaches under the handsink, under the display cooler and under the cook's line equipment, according to a county health department report.

The restaurant also lacked hot water on the day of the inspection due to a pilot light that had gone out on the water heater.

Bonjour was closed but later reopened the same day, according to the county.
