Students at Laguna Niguel Elementary School run in their campus' annual Jog-A-Thon fundraiser.

The Aviators got a workout Friday at their school's annual Jog-A-Thon fundraiser. Students from kindergarten through fifth grade sprinted around the field to promote exercise and healthy living.

Stacy Ruffell, the school's foundation president, said the event raises money to help pay for technology upgrades, books and workbooks, instructional assistants and more.

"Each student at LNES is a participant in the Laguna Niguel Elementary Jog-A-Thon," she said. "The students, faculty and parents look forward to this event every year."

This year's theme was Aviators On The Right Track. Students also competed in a T-shirt design contest, submitting artwork incorporating that theme. Christian Reed's winning design appeared on all the T-shirts.

The event was organized by parent and PTA volunteers, and members of the foundation board.
