Couple Leases Whitney Houston Home for More Than $5K

The Nellie Gail estate the late songstress lived in for a short period has been leased. The initial asking price was $6,400 per month.

The couple who own the home they say was once rented by the late Whitney Houston, have leased it out for $5,800 per month, according to California Multiple Listings Service records.

The MLS lists the home on the 27700 block of Hidden Trail as being leased since Oct. 1.

Mahi and Mike Pasha purchased the Nellie Gail home in 2008 and say the late songstress lived there in 2006. In July, they put it up for lease and were asking $6,400 per month. As of Monday, there were three more active homes listed for lease in the Nellie Gail community: $4,400, $4,995 and $15,000, according to the MLS service.

Additionally, MLS listings show the home was purchased by Mahi Pasha in July 2008 for $1,275,000.

It was taken off the market in May, and had been for lease since July 26. Houston once lived in the exclusive community, on the border of Laguna Niguel and Laguna Hills, the owner's husband, Mike Pasha, 44, told Patch in February.

"From what we know, she rented the house to be close to her drug counselor around 2006," Mike Pasha said in Februrary.  "We were really sorry to hear what happened to her."

He said they have not altered the exterior of the home, but the interior has been remodeled extensively.

Built in 1989, the home has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and updated appliances. Outside it has waterfalls, swimming pool, and lush grounds.
