Will Red-Light Cameras Be Banned from Laguna Niguel?

The City Council will vote on the ordinance at its meeting Tuesday night. Other business includes discussion of solutions to barking-dog complaints.

At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, the Laguna Niguel council will:

  • Vote on an ordinance to bar automated red-light traffic cameras from being installed on city streets.
  • Discuss adopting a program to begin issuing citations to address barking-dog complaints.
  • Enable the staff to appoint the Salt Creek Corridor Restoration Project for habitat restoration funding from Orange County Transportation Authority. 
  • Allow the mayor to sign a decree making Sept. 17-23 Constitution week in the Laguna Niguel.
  • Adopt a resolution that all future City Council be held at the new Laguna Niguel City Hall, at 30111 Crown Valley Pkwy.  
  • Authorize the lease agreement and permit the Chamber of Commerce to begin the relocation of office equipment one to two weeks before the beginning of the lease term.

The City Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. This will be the last Tuesday the City Council will convene at 27841 La Paz Rd. Beginning Aug. 30, meetings will be at the new council chambers, at 30111 Crown Valley Pkwy.
