Parking Restrictions on Camino Capistrano Lifted for Some

City Council says some local business owners will be exempt from the commercial vehicle parking restrictions on the local street.

The City Council agreed Tuesday that some local business owners should be exempt from the parking restrictions on Camino Capistrano south of Avery Parkway and will be launching a permit program for exemptions.

The parking restriction applies to commercial vehicles that are no longer allowed to park from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. on the stretch of Camino Capistrano south of Avery Parkway.

Councilwoman Linda Lindholm suggested that the permits be issued and dated daily to the business owner of the Laguna Suites and Inn Hotel, and that the program be brought back to the council for annual review should any problems arise.

The implementation of the permit program will still require the adoption of an ordinance and resolution according to City Manager Tim Casey, and will be launched at the earliest possible convenience.
