Dana Point City Hall Fumigated Over Labor Day Holiday

If you planned to stop by Dana Point City Hall this weekend, think again. The city building will be closed for fumigation over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

The offices at 33282 Golden Lantern will be closed from Saturday through Monday and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 a.m., Emergency Preparedness Director Mike Rose said.

The city is tenting the building for a wood termite infestation, Rose said.

He said city offices are typically closed on the weekend, so he does not expect a large disruption. He said code enforcement, police services and the graffiti hotline will still be available over the weekend. You can dial 949-770-6011 for non-emergency police calls, and 9-1-1 for emergencies.

"It's been almost exactly 10 years since our last termite job, and we're starting to notice it," Rose said.

Fumigating gases are dangerous, and residents should avoid city hall during fumigation.
