Suspected Car Thief Nabbed in Laguna Niguel

The vehicle was reported stolen in Irvine Monday.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man in Laguna Niguel Friday on suspicion of possessing a stolen car.

At 2:38 p.m., deputies stopped a driver near the intersection of Crown Valley and National Park Drive because the plates identified it as a stolen vehicle, said Lt. Steve Gil.

Gil said the vehicle's owner reported it stolen to the Irvine Police Department Monday.

Deputies arrested the driver, Bryan Gregory Santoro, 35, on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle.

He's in the Orange County Jail on $40,000 bond, according to jail records, and his next court date is Tuesday.
