A house fire on the 24600 block of La Plata in Laguna Niguel burned for about a half-hour Wednesday morning. Two adults were displaced.

The fire near Grace Classical Academy began at 6:12 a.m. and was out at 6:47 a.m., according to the Orange County Fire Authority Twitter account.

The family dog managed to escape, but other pets were not so lucky. Fish and exotic lizards died in the fire, the OCFA said.

Before being extinguished, the fire extended into the attic. No injuries were reported.
