Fess Up - You got fooled didn't you?

I had to go to Las Vegas on business last week. I know it's a dirty job but someone has to do it. I drove. When it was time to leave I had to fill up and it was then and there I realized how welled duped the majority of the voters in this state really were last November. Do you know what I paid for gasoline? Wait for it.... $ 3.03 a gallon. Now that wasn't even the cheapest. Compare that with what we pay at Costco thi9s week. That's right $ 3.59 a gallon. Why? Is our gasoline 20% better then the gas in Las Vegas. Going to Las Vegas it took almost three quarters of a tank. Coming home it took just over a half a tank. Strange. Seems like if I have to pay more for the same thing it should at least perform better doesn't it. Then I really started to notice other items have gone up in price but not value. Have you noticed too?

I like a cold beer on occasion. I normally buy a 30 pack and have, right up to this year paid $ 15.99 for a 30 pack from my local grocer. Guess what. I went to buy a 30 pack yesterday and the cost for the same suds are now $21.99. Can Pabst really now be 37% better then it was last year? The cans are the same size. Now I know I am not part of the 1%. I wish I was but I just don't make the cut.

So why am I suddenly paying more for things as though I was one of the evil rich? Oh, that's right we told J.B. to go ahead and raise our sales tax so the state could take the money and give it to the schools and educate the children. Only, now we have seen that the state will spend more money this year then last year. No cuts in spending and the money isn't even going to the schools.  But then why would our leaders cut their spending for the people who keep them in power when the majority of the voters are easily fooled.

Does any of this bother anyone out there or has the numbness settled in so deeply now that nothing even registers. Shame on US!
