Locals React to Burger King Employees Standing in Lettuce Bins in Ohio

Three employees were fired in July after this video went viral. Locally, diners say they may think twice about ordering at the burger chain.

Burger King has long had the motto "Have it your way,” but recently this might not the be case.

Three weeks ago, this YouTube video of a Burger King employee standing in two lettuce bins at an Ohio restaurant hit the Internet and went viral.

In response, Burger King released this statement: "Food safety is a top priority at all BURGER KING® restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question. The restaurant where this photo was taken is independently-owned and operated by a BURGER KING® franchisee. The franchisee has taken swift action to investigate this matter and has terminated the three employees involved in the incident."

I decided to see how locals felt about the photo/video and if it would affect their ordering from the

Jessie Rubin, who was eating an order of sweet potato fries, said after watching the video that she would have to think twice.

“That’s pretty nasty, how could someone do that knowing other people would be eating the lettuce?” she said.

Carole Sustowitz, who was dining with her daughter, Brittany, said she was not aware of the incident and typically orders a Whopper and fries, as does her daughter. She also said she would think twice before ordering again and would look at the food more closely while eating.

Managers on duty would not comment.

Now that you have seen the video, will you be more careful about what you eat at the local restaurant, will you avoid it completely for a while, or do you think the Ohio video shows an isolated incident that won't affect your Laguna Niguel dining experience?
