Hurricane Sandy: Close to Home for Blogger
Hurricane Sandy has brought havoc to New Jersey.
When most people hear the term “Jersey Shore” nowadays, the first thing that comes to mind is a group of 20-30 somethings on MTV.
For me however, the “Jersey Shore” will always be home. Now that beloved home that I grew up in is filled with turmoil, as the beaches and boardwalks I walked along as a child are torn to shreds.
My high school hangout place, Red Bank, was immersed in water, and the sandy beaches I spent so many summers at are filled with wreckage, downed power lines and trees.

For those back home that are in the midst of all this chaos, I pray that my beloved hometown can be restored to the fun, peaceful place that it once was. But I know it will never be the same and that is something that no words can really explain.
The weather may have washed away the physical, but it will never wash away my memories. You’re in my thoughts and prayers Jersey.
