Super Bowl Festivities: How do you celebrate?

Sunday February 2nd, marks the battle between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII (or 47, for those who dont speak or count in Roman Numerals).

The Super Bowl is always a special day, where families and friends come together to watch one of the biggest sporting events of the new year. This year will be extra special for one family in particular. The Harbaugh family will be forever changed, once the final whistle has blown and a voctor is crowned. This is because both teams are coahced by someone with the last name of Harbaugh. Many are calling this game the Harbaugh-bowl or something of the sort, as these brothers take their teams into New Orleans to do battle.

Much of the spotlight has been placed on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick as he is to be added to a very short list of rookie quarterbacks who have taken their team to the Super Bowl, and also because he came on throughout the season, from back up to superstar, thanks to the highly scrutinized decision by 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.

All-pro veteran lineback Ray Lewis has also been focused on whenever this game has been mentioned, for many reasons. Announcing that this would be his last season prior to the Ravens' great playoff run, winning this game would be a fitting story book enbding to an elustrious career for a player who has been synonymous and ultimately defined the position of middle lineback in the NFL.

So, whether you are watching to see who wins, to see the hits, the sheer and amazing athleticness, or whther you just want something to do this Sunday, you will indeed be watching a small piece of history being made before your very eyes.

Now, there are many ways to see this great athletic competiton. Some like to go to their local watering hole and cheers with close friends while feeling free to scream and yell at the television monitors. I personally, find it quite comforting to enjoy the game in the confines of either mine or someone elses home, eat tremendous amounts of greasy fried food, and dig deep into my bag of masculinity and cheers and grunt frequently. I will no doubt be as intrigued as anyone for the half time show, as the last few years have proved to be less than worthy to watch. Regardless of this, everyone celebrates the time old tradition of the Super Bowl in their own unique way.
