Patch Picks: Where to Spend St. Patrick's Day

From mugs of green beer to corned beef and cabbage, here's where you should head to ring in the holiday or at least dance a jig

Even if you're not Irish, St. Patrick's Day is always a welcome holiday, as well as an excuse to drink green beer or wear a ridiculous sweater bearing a lepruchan.

St. Patrick’s Day is observed March 17 because that is the feast day of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. It is believed that he died March 17 in the year 461. It is also a worldwide celebration of Irish culture and history. St. Patrick’s Day is a national holiday in Ireland and a provincial holiday in Canada's Newfoundland and Labrador.

Luckily, there are a few things going on closer to home here in Laguna Niguel where you can still get your Irish on at least for a few hours.
