How to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of First 'James Bond' Movie

It may be hard to believe, but, today is the 50th anniversary of first James Bond flick, Dr. No. on the Silver Screen. Over the years, many actors have played the sexy agent, 007, "Bond, James Bond," but let's be honest, it's been about the Bond Girls, too.

The first Bond Girl who will always be remembered for the white bikini she rocked with a knife cleverly attached to its lower half, was Ursula Andress also in Dr. No in 1962. Over the years, she has been voted as the sexiest Bond Girl. Other femme fatale Bond Girls have included: Halle Berry, Jane Seymour, and Grace Jones.

Can you name the other Bond Girls or the movies?

Of course, there have been quite a few actors that have held the lead role: Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Daniel Craig, and Pierce Brosnan.

The next Bond movie, Skyfall, heads into theaters on Nov. 9, starring Craig, again. 

To celebrate Ian Fleming's creation, many made into films, why not rent a Bond flick at Blockbuster in Laguna Niguel or at a Redbox. You might want to read a Fleming book, too, which you can pick up at the library. 

The first one he wrote about the fictional character was created in 1953, who featured him in 12 novels and two short story collections. There have been six other authors who wrote authorized Bond novels or novelizations after Fleming's death in 1964: Kingsley Amis, Christopher Wood, John Gardner, Raymond Benson, Sebastian Faulks and Jeffery Deaver; a new novel, written by William Boyd, is planned for release in 2013, according to Wikipedia.
