Free Fishing Trip for Veterans

Veterans get a half-day fishing trip thanks to Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whalewatching along with some other perks on Saturday.

The non-profit Fish for Life is teaming with SeniorWish on Saturday for a complimentary fishing trip experience for WWII, Korean and Vietnam War Veterans in grand fashion. Senior Wish is a non-profit organization headquartered in Southern California that helps fulfill a wish for senior veterans. 

Vets should stop by Dana Wharf Sportfishing & Whalewatching at Dana Point harbor between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. 8 a.m. is Veterans check-in.

At 9 a.m. the festivities begin with remarks by several community leaders, sports figures and more.

Each participant is introduced as they walk down the gangplank on a red carpet and greeted by Boy Scouts lining the deck saluting them as they board the vessel Dana Pride.

After the salute,The Dana Pride leaves the dock to take the heroes fishing, and at 3 p.m., participants return to Dana Point harbor greeted by the Harbor Patrol who will perform a water show and escort the Dana Pride back to dock.

This program is designed to provide love and inspiration to a multitude of special needs people, while teaching fishing skills and ministering to the value of life.

I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't clickRead More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.
