Driver Narrowly Dodges Skateboarder, Receives Harsh Words

A rundown of calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff's Department from Sept. 9–10 in Laguna Niguel.

A caller reported that a man was standing in the middle of the intersection at Golden Lantern/Acapulco Drive asking for donations for the skateboarder that was killed a few nights prior, and the caller almost ran him over. When the caller apologized, the skateboarder threatened to beat him up. The incident occurred on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 11:25 a.m. in Dana Point.

Monday, Sept. 10:

Suspicious Person 12:08 p.m. Pacific Coast Highway/Ritz-Carlton Drive. A woman in her late 30s to early 40s, was wearing a white wedding dress and veil, and spoke to a lifeguard about the coming of Christ at the Point Tower at Salt Creek Beach. She was found to be cooperative and not breaking any law. (Dana Point)

Suspicious Person 9:52 p.m. 27800 block of Cummins Drive. A woman referenced that a nurse called her stating that her son, who was on an involuntary hold at UCI Hospital, was overhead speaking to someone, that he was going to have people beat the caller up.

Sunday, Sept. 9:

Traffic Hazard 6:45 p.m. Marina Hills Drive/Street of the Golden Lantern. A caller reported that a large group of kids were standing in the street with signs, protesting a death and asking for money. No contact was made.

Suspicious Person 11:52 a.m. 28000 block of La Paz Road. A caller reported that behind the backstop at the baseball field at La Paz Sports Park, a male of unknown age was drinking a beer and touching himself inappropriately. The man was wearing a white T-shirt. The woman said she would make herself known to the man if she decided on contact.
