Congratulations Laguna Niguel, You're ... Snobby?

A real estate brokerage site put your city on the list of top 10 snobbiest small cities.

A real estate brokerage site has come up with a list of the 10 snobbiest small cities in the nation, and Laguna Niguel is on the list.

Perhaps a small consolation, it came in at No. 10.

Movoto measured "snobbiness" with the following formula. First they made a list of all cities with populations between 65,000 and 45,000 people. Then -- "think Frasier and Niles Crane," they say -- they looked at:

  • Median home price (the higher the better)
  • Median household income (the higher the better)
  • Percent of population with a college degree (the higher the better)
  • Private schools per capita (the more the better)
  • Performing arts per capita (the more the better)
  • Art galleries per capita (the more the better)
  • Fast food restaurants per capita (the fewer the better)
Topping the list with the biggest snob factor was fellow Patch town Palo Alto. Here's what Movoto says about Laguna Niguel, which apparently had great snob-scores across the board:

"There were plenty of art galleries and performing arts to go around, and parents will be pleased to see there are many private schools to select from. Besides that, there are many upscale neighborhoods with amazing views. Simply the best place to have a black tie dinner affair, don’t you agree?"
