Glitz, glamour and fundraising all met under one roof Friday night at the Cheryl Burke Dance Studio.
The Orange County ballroom venue celebrated its second anniversary by hosting a studio dance party to raise funds for Japan earthquake and tsunami relief.
A percentage of those proceeds will be donated to the Japan America Society of Southern California-2011 Japan Relief Fund. The society is a nonprofit charitable and educational organization consisting of individuals and corporations with an interest in U.S.-Japan relations.
Cheryl Burke, two-time Dancing with the Stars champion, paid a visit to the studio to sign her book and teach a few dance lessons.
"We had around 70 people attend, and the event ran until almost midnight," said Sherri Burke, mom of Cheryl Burke. "It was a great evening full of group lessons, social dancing, performances, wine and appetizers.
"All the sponsors were so supportive. Cheryl was in constant motion, meeting guests, shaking hands, signing books, photos, teaching the group class in cha-cha."
The event included a raffle and prizes from local sponsors: , , Relax the Back,Dancers Choice, and California Taste Fine Wine.
