Art & Creativity for Healing to Celebrate “Palette of Colors: A Tuscan Evening”

Friends and supporters are invited to a dinner and auction to be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Mission Viejo Country Club; proceeds will directly support free Art4Healing® programs for homeless children and their families, victims of domestic violence, underprivileged children, and families dealing with the affects of Autism

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. Art & Creativity for Healing, Inc. today announced that it will host its annual fundraising dinner on Saturday, June 7, 2014 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Mission Viejo Country Club, located at 26200 Country Club Drive in Mission Viejo.

This year’s event “Palette of Colors: A Tuscan Evening” is expected to draw more than 200 friends and supporters in celebration of the mission of Art & Creativity for Healing, which is to support emotional healing through art and creative expression for those living with pain, grief, fear or stress.

“Palette of Colors is our signature event, and one that our friends and supporters look forward all year long,” said Laurie Zagon, Founder/Director, Art & Creativity for Healing, Inc. “We would like to thank this year’s event chair, Michelle Moreno and our title sponsor Zumasys, for their generosity toward our organization, as well as our event committee, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Without their support, this event would not be possible.”

“Palette of Colors: A Tuscan Evening” will take place overlooking the beautiful golf course at the Mission Viejo Country Club, and will include a silent and live auctions, a champagne welcome reception, an opportunity wine wall, gourmet dinner, DJ and dancing. Also, back by popular demand are “100 OPPORTUNITY GIFT BOXES” that can be purchased for $25 each and will include donated jewelry, boutique items and gift cards valued between $20 and $100 as well as a 60 bottle secret wine wall that can be purchased for $20 per bottle that includes five collector bottles ranging from $40 to $250.  The silent auction will feature 150 items including theme gift baskets, fine art, jewelry, travel, beauty and spa items, and much more.

“All proceeds from ‘Palette of Colors: A Tuscan Evening’ will be used to support the free Art4Healing workshops we provide to homeless children and their families, victims of domestic violence, and underprivileged children throughout Orange County, and families dealing with the affects of autism, held in collaboration with our nonprofit partner organizations,” said Zagon. 

The silent and live auctions for “Palette of Colors: A Tuscan Evening” are being chaired by Sue Stinson and Ann Pearce. Live auction items that evening will include Art4Healing® Pillows, a limited edition collection of inspirational home interior accents featuring a diverse array of bold, vibrant-color prints created by Art4Healing workshop participants. The series of pillows include Hope, Peace, Trust, Grace and Joy, and will retail for $90 each. Other live auction items include a Scotch Tasting Party for gentlemen only, hosted by Jim Stinson; and, a one week-stay at Little Blue Cottage by the Sea in Laguna Beach, donated by Sharlene Baker. Exotic vacation packages featured in the live auction will include an African Photo Safari; Experience Paris; Unforgettable New York; Jazz & Cuisine in New Orleans; a Seven Night Stay at Legacy Villas in La Quinta, Calif.; and a U.S. Open Championship Golf Tournament experience.

Art & Creativity for Healing covers all administrative costs through revenue from its teacher training programs, 100 percent of the funds raised at the 2014 “Palette of Colors: A Tuscan Evening” will be used to support free Art & Creativity for Healing workshops for children including the “Art4Healing: Creative Tools for Homeless Children & their Families” with Project Hope Alliance, Orange County Rescue Mission and American Family Housing; the “Art for Healing for Heroes and their Families” program at Camp Pendleton; “Autism Expressions with Color” with The Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment Disorders; Families and Community Together Orange County, a partnership between Orange County Social Services Agency and Orangewood Children’s Foundation; Art & Creativity for Healing’s partnership with Human Options; and Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC).
