I heard the buzz about the Arcadian and this new Fine Art Gallery called The Shed. So I wanted to…Read More see what all the excitement was about. What an awesome event it was on Saturday night. . We had a great time mingling and meeting new people. I think this place will be the next hot spot on the map for Art and entertainment. I am also excited to see how this little hotspot is going to add an element of excitement for artists and musicians alike, not to mention anyone looking for fun things to do on the weekend. Looking forward to your next event!

I agree with the other commenters that this story is not very timely. On the otherhand, I didn't…Read More see anything about it in the LA Times, and what did the museums themselves do to publicize this? That said, how come some Patch readers receive their copies hours before others? Jenny & Mark received their copies in time to post comments at 7 am; my copy didn't arrive until 12:08 pm, which is typical for me.

Mia Bloom's art, whether in fiber or paint or mixed media, has universal appeal through a…Read More consistently demonstrated refined sense of color, texture, line and design. Take another look, closer: recall how they made the bobby thompson replay fill up the screen, larger…Read More than life? Then, the rest of move kept showing kids being coddles, nobody strikes out, games arent won or lost, its always a tie, etc. Then, the kid does the radio replay of the bobby thompson home rum...and now, look there, on screen as the judge in that scene..he's beaming with a smile: that judge is the REAL pitcher in real life, the legendary ralph branca who pitched the home run ball to thompson. That was the point of the movie: that you have to play the game, to be in it, to win OR lose, the important thing is, yes, get outside, take on a challengem work through it, win ir lose, and yes it IS quite okay to lose, and stil have a great life, a legendary life. Competing, win or lose, THAT iS what makes memorable moments, and excitement, as endorsed by the little lesgue moms that said "the kids games are boring" because nonone ever wins, or loses, or strikes out. In the 21st century, its all about "protecting" self esteem, without realizing that esteem and character are BUILT by learning , competing, and facing adversity, just like Artie's character taught the 2 boys. And see how all grew through it, by faving their challenges, just like ralph branca faced thompson, and became a great moment in history. Go watch again ,with the thompson homerun cann, and branca's cameo, as the core of the story. Then go outside and kick some cans.
