Theme for L.N Holiday Parade 2012: 'Honoring Our Heroes'

The Laguna Niguel Parade will be held Dec. 8, and the committee intends to highlight individuals in the city who reflect "hero-like" qualities throughout the year in celebration of this theme.

"Honoring Our Heroes” will be the Laguna Niguel 2012 Holiday Parade theme. The Laguna Niguel Parade Committee intends to highlight individuals in the city who reflect “hero-like” qualities throughout the year in celebration of this theme.

The Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade is an annual tradition in the city that started in 1990, one year after the city’s incorporation. Each year the parade has a variety of entriesincluding, for example, local Boy and Girl Scout troops, Citizen of the Year, public safety personnel and celebrities.

This year the honoring the heroes theme celebrates those individuals in the local community that residents feel are their heroes, including those in the military, a school teacher, or simply put, someone’s mom or dad.

“If you think yourfriend or family member deserves some recognition send in a half-page explanation on why that person is your hero,” Carl David, chairperson of the parade committee said.

The parade committee will randomly pick one hero each month and highlight their story. Stories should be emailed to Stephanie Oddo at: registration@cityoflagunaniguel.org.
