Dana Point Church Volunteers Make Meals for Children of Haiti

Members of South Shores Church in Dana Point packed more than 80,000 meal-packs for the children of Haiti on Saturday.

On April 28, 175 members of packed more than 80,000 meal-packs for the children of Haiti.

  • About $20,000 was donated by people of South Shores over five weeks; double the original goal of providing 40,000 meal packs.
  • The meal packs include rice, soy and other grains which would feed a child for five days.
  • All ages represented – from six to 89 in the 2 1/2 hour "packing event."
  • Many friends, neighbors, and others from community joined in.
  • Meals will be combined with other campaigns and sent over to partner orphanages in Haiti by end of month.
