Summer means warm water , and good fishing

What a great summer this will be we have already seen some great fishing in May , to put things into perspective we caught 5 local Yellowtail last summer this year to date we have already caught 50 local Yellowtail and summer just started. The water has been 64-67 degrees, this could go up or down depending on the windy weather but all indications are that it will keep warming up. This is great news for everyone that loves fishing, and a great time to introduce kids to fishing.

If your child has an interest in fishing bring them down to Dana Wharf Sportifshing on Sundays we have a hands on free fishing clinic just for kids on one of our vessels while its docked , parents you can wait at the top of the gangway and watch your child , this clinic is for them and is filled with so much amazing information they will be hooked ( no pun intended ) plus at the end of every clinic the captain raffles off great prizes . After the one of a kind clinic your child can go on the half day fishing boat departing at 12:45 , with a paid parent ticket the child will fish all afternoon for free and put his or her new skills to work. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon the entire family can come along. For more information visit http://www.danawharf.com/kidsclub.html other fish you may catch: Bass , Barracuda, and Rock Fish

Watch for the next story on Blue Whales and Fin Whales and the very talented photographers that come to see them .

See you on the water. If you have any questions about fishing in local waters or whale watching please email me through Patch.
