Photos: Battle of the Paddle in Dana Point

Dana Point held its 6th annual standup paddle competition Saturday and Sunday. The Battle of the Paddle brought thousands to Doheny Beach racing for over $25,000 in cash and prizes.

Check out photos of what supthemag.com calls "basically the surf race world championship" above.

Kai Lenny of Maui took his first men's championship over the weekend, while past champion Annabel Anderson of New Zealand won in the women's competition.

As part of the day's events, surfers joined together to attempt the largest mass-surfing of a single wave in world history. Last year more than 400 surfers combined to set the Guinness Book world record.
