No. 1 Corona del Mar (13-0) vs. No. 2 Garden Grove (13-0) at Orange Coast College, 7 p.m.

This is the long-presumed rematch of last year’s championship, a 35-10 victory by Corona del Mar. Everyone agrees Garden Grove is better this season, and the Argonauts have six shutouts to prove it. Austin Christian has 10 interceptions on defense.

With quarterback Angel Martinez (67.5 completion percentage, 2,003 yards, 29 TDs, 4 int.) and running back Sione Masoe (1,455 yards, 8.9 per carry, 29 TDs), Corona del Mar coach Scott Meyer called the Argonaut offense “the total package.”

It will take a good total package to beat CdM, which has won 23 in a row, has four shutouts and has held opponents to 14 or fewer points 11 times in 13 games—and no one has scored more than 21.

Although everyone openly says Garden Grove is better this season, there's no one saying Pacific Coast League champ Corona del Mar is worse.

Corona del Mar is vying for its third consecutive Southern Section championship. The Sea Kings are plenty balanced, too, led by quarterback Luke Napolitano (64.5 percent, 2,312 yards, 21 TDs, 8 int.) and running back Cole Martin (1,577 yards, 6.7 per carry, 20 TDs).

The winner of the game will receive a berth into the State Bowl Championship tournament.
