Float Tube Fishermen Hit Laguna Niguel Lake Wednesday

Two tons of trout are being stocked in Laguna Niguel Lake Wednesday.

If you want the first crack at rainbow trout, head to Laguna Niguel Lake and bring a float tube.

The lake is scheduled to stock 4,000 lbs. of rainbow trout Wednesday.

Pricing

  • $28 for adults, $20 for active military (with ID), $18 for kids 4-11
  • Park entrance: $3 weekdays, $5 weekends
  • Boat fee: $10/hour, $30 for 5 hours, $50 all day
  • No state fishing license required

Float tube fishermen are the only ones allowed on the lake for the first day. This is a "barbless-artificial/catch-and-release only event," according to the lake website.

Although the lake did not get its required 50 pre-registered float tubers for its planned Nov. 21 event, float tube fishers can still come down with barbless lures Nov. 20.

On Nov. 21, float tubers will get in with no launch fee.

Laguna Niguel Lake is the only one in Orange County to stock with Tailwalker trout from Bridgeport, Nebraska, according to its website.
