Even More Big Catches at Laguna Niguel Lake

The lake continues to be a hotbed for trout and fishermen are enjoying every moment.

As of Dec. 26 Laguna Niguel Lake had 16,500 pounds of rainbow trout.

and was restocked with an additional 2,000 on Dec. 27.

According to Rick Mendoza, co-owner of Rip 'n Lips, the company that rents fishing equipment, boats and more at the lake,"Trout fishing continues to be awesome. Weekly and bi-weekly stockings have made for non-stop action for shore anglers, boats and float tubers. Night crawlers and Power Bait working well for bait fishermen. Trout worms, jigs and crank baits working well for those throwing artificials. Orange, chartreuse and white have been the best colors. Fly fishermen using bead head midges in the flats continue to do well."
