Restorative Yoga Workshop ~ The Art of Relaxation

Spend an afternoon relaxing completely. Learn to develop a Restorative Yoga home practice or offer Restorative Yoga to others.

In Hatha Yoga there are two distinct phases to asanas. The active phase, where we consciously move into and out of the pose, and the relaxation or surrender phase-where we actually experience the energy of the asana. This is also where physically true flexibility and range of motion are developed. Restorative Yoga opens the three parts of our bodies we spend our whole lives protecting: the throat, the heart and the abdomen. A Restorative Yoga practice enhances any yoga practice (from active to meditative) and brings a sense of balance to your daily life.

This workshop kicks off You and the Mat's "Support Local Workshop Series" featuring our very own local instructor Lynn Bushnell. Please join Lynn for an afternoon practice where you will learn how to use blankets, bolsters and other props to develop a personalized restorative practice. 

Items to bring to enhance your experience: eye pillow, cozy socks, journal for note taking. Props are provided but feel free to bring your own yoga mat, bolster and favorite blankie. Complimentary tea to follow.
