WATCH: Blue Whale Meets Paddleboarder Head on Near Dana Point

Check out this YouTube video recently shot by Captain Dave Anderson of Dolphinsafari.com.

A near collision off Dana Point on Saturday between a 90-foot blue whale and a 6-foot paddle boarder can be seen here in this YouTube video.

Captain Dave Anderson of Dolphinsafari.com took the video during his regular dolphin and whale safari. There were more than 15 blue whales sighted on this trip and more than 70 blue whales were seen between Friday and Sunday.

My sister and her family were on their way home from Catalina, and they had a near miss with the blue whale as well. They had to cut their engines to a halt when they were traveling traveling quickly toward the harbor. They breathed a sigh of relief that they saw the whale and were able to avoid an accident.

I'll be heading to Catalina next week- I hope we run into a few of the Whales on way there - and back for that matter! That whale looked beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Just keep the Japanese whaling ships away..they are slaughtering whales for profits to sell to China.
