New Principal Named at L.N. Elementary School

Longtime Principal Ellen Fine announced her retirement recently after two decades at the school. She will be replaced by Michelle Moore at the end of this month.

The Board of Trustees recently appointed a new Laguna Niguel Elementary School principal, as well as other key administrators in business, personnel, transportation, and special education.

“We are excited that these talented instructional leaders will join our administrative team,” Superintendent Joe Farley said. “They bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their roles. I fully expect that the school communities will embrace them and their plans to maintain the high levels of student achievement the parents and communities at those schools expect.”

Moore currently serves on the OCDE Common Core Steering Committee. She received her bachelor’s in liberal studies from CSU, Fullerton and a master’s degree from National University.

Trustees also appointed Phillipa Geiger as executive director, Fiscal Services. Geiger worked in the district from 1996 until 2010. She is currently assistant director, Fiscal Services at the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. She replaces David Carter, who is retiring.

  •          Leona Olsen, executive director, personnel services/compliance
  •          Steve Gelsinger, director III, psychological services
  •          Sharon deArmas, Supervisor III, transportation safety and training
  •          Tracy Christman-Sturm, program specialist, special education
