Laguna Niguel's Teachers of the Year

The per-school selections have been announced. Is your teacher among them?

Teachers in the Capistrano Unified School District have made their per-school selections for teachers of the year.

The following teachers in Laguna Niguel public schools have been selected by their peers:

Aliso Niguel High – Robbie Schmitz, P.E.

Marian Bergeson Elementary – Celeste Gray, third grade

Crown Valley Elementary – Colleen Kotel, preschool for deaf

Dana Hills High – Randy Hudson, science

Hidden Hills Elementary – Jennifer Calentino, second grade

Laguna Niguel Elementary – Linda Cardwell, kindergarten

John Malcom Elementary – Melanie Foote, kindergarten

Moulton Elementary – Linda Gilpin, second grade

Niguel Hills Middle – Katie Fallman, sixth grade

George White Elemenary – Cathy Myers, second grade

From the 56 winners, three will be named in May as the district-wide teacher of the year, one for each school level. The three will then compete in the Orange County teachers- of-the-year contest, according to a CUSD press release.
