Cornerstone Patio Homes in Laguna Niguel

   The Cornerstone Community in Laguna Niguel was built from 2007 to 2009 in the northern corner of Laguna Niguel. S&S was the builder and the homes are a beautiful modern design with large open family rooms, high ceilings and custom kitchens. You will find these homes at the intersection of Moulton and the 73 Toll Road. This location provides easy access to John Wayne Airport via the 73 and is only a few blocks from three major shopping centers (Target, Costco and Walmart).

    Cornerstone homes were built in three sizes, 1862 sq ft, 2079 sq ft and 2441 sq ft. The two smaller models have three bedrooms and two baths. The mid-sized model has a loft and the largest model has four bedrooms. The homes are built in what is called “patio” style. The homes are situated around a courtyard style driveway of brick pavers and the fronts of about six homes will all face the courtyard. The yards consist of patios with just enough space to barbeque and enjoy outdoor dining. They are not zero-lot line. These homes are not for everyone, but are a great choice for those who are “done” with yard work but want a newer detached home. The Cornerstone Community is not gated but is adjacent to the San Joaquin Hills gated community. About 10% of the homes are view properties.

    There is a pool located in the middle of the community for summertime enjoyment and the HOA fees are $225 per month. The style of the homes could be called Mediterranean. There are currently two of the middle sized homes on the market at $724,000 and $730,000. Seven have sold in the first half of 2013 and the prices have ranged from $650K (short sale) to 730K. There are no age restrictions of any kind but the lifestyle probably fits the young professional or empty nester. Residents definitely get to know one another and the community has a warm, “Old World” charm.
