Sen. Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg (D–Sacramento) named Sen. Mimi Walters (R-Laguna Hills) to the joint conference committee for fixing California’s broken pension systems on Friday.
“It is an honor to be named to the joint conference committee. Addressing California’s massive unfunded pension liabilities is critical to righting our fiscal ship. My hope is that members of the committee will take the responsibilities of this conference committee seriously. The urgency for immediate and major changes to ensure that our retirement systems remain sustainable for our state workers is paramount,” said Walters.
