Occupy Orange County Kicks Off Protest Tonight in Irvine

In solidarity with Occupy Wall Street, Occupy LA and Occupy San Diego, Occupy Orange County invites all to the pep rally from 3-6 p.m. Friday.

With Occupy Wall Street protesters jubilant that New York City Mayor Bloomberg rescinded his eviction to  cleanup Zucotti Park (formerly Liberty Park Plaza), Occupy Orange County CA (http://www.occupy-oc.org/) is also celebrating with a 3-6 p.m. pep rally and march tonight sponsored by Occupy Irvine in San Marco Park (1 San Marco, Irvine), while Saturday’s inaugural Occupy Orange County CA protest and occupation starts at 10 a.m. at Irvine’s Civic Center Plaza (1 Civic Center, Irvine)

In solidarity with Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Los Angeles and Occupy San Diego, Occupy Orange County CA welcomes all citizens to participate locally in this ever-growing grass roots movement, which is giving voice and space for OC residents to peacefully protest against systemic corruption, greed and injustice in America.

This week, hundreds of Orange County CA activists peacefully protested in Orange, Huntington Beach, Anaheim and Fullerton. Occupy Orange County CA, along with Occupy Irvine, is now urging citizens to join OC’s biggest “occupy” protest yet starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Irvine at 1 Civic Center Plaza.

Occupy Irvine has organized tonight’s mini march and pep rally from 3-6 p.m. Occupy Irvine, Occupy Orange County CA and all citizens are encouraged to join a march starting at Irvine’s San Marco Park (1 San Marco, Irvine) and then walk down Main Street to the corner of Main Street and Van Karman Avenue.   “We urge all Orange County citizens to take to the streets on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 to peacefully voice your dissatisfaction with corporations’ disproportionate influence in the political sphere. Those who profit off the suffering of others will be held accountable. We are the 99% and we are too big to fail."

As with Occupy Wall Street, the Occupy Orange County CA is a leader-less movement with all participants working together cooperatively without monetary compensation to communicate publicly their dissatisfaction with the current corruption in America’s financial and political spheres.
