Arraignment of Laguna Niguel Man Charged in Alleged $6 Million Loan Scam Postponed

Christopher Fox worked for Green Credit Solutions and is accused along with two other Orange County men of collecting about $3,500 per client.

UPDATED, 11 p.m., Dec. 7: A Laguna Niguel man was one of two Orange County men who appeared in Orange County Superior Court Wednesday afternoon on charges related to an alleged nationwide $6 million loan modification scam, according to the California Attorney General's Office. However, the arraignment was rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 12.

Christopher Fox, 37, of Laguna Niguel and Curtis Melone, also known as Curtis Kubat, 37, of Huntington Beach, were arrested Tuesday on 37 felony counts, including conspiracy, grand theft and unlawful collection of advance fees, according to the Attorney General's Office.

A third man accused in the alleged scam -- King Harris III, 42, of St.Louis -- is awaiting federal mail and wire fraud charges in Missouri and prosecutors will seek to have him extradited to the Southland.

The three defendants worked for Orange County-based Green Credit Solutions, which was later renamed Guardian Credit Services and Get My CreditGrade. They are accused of collecting more than $6 million in upfront fees forservices that were never performed.

The Attorney General's Office began investigating the company in June 2009 after receiving numerous consumer complaints.
