Laguna Niguel Bans Red-Light Cameras
The measure passes on a 4-1 City Council vote.
Red-light cameras are unlikely to appear in Laguna Niguel anytime soon. Last week, the City Council tentatively approved a measure outlawing the devices, which automatically snap photos of motorists who run red lights.
Laguna Niguel does not currently have any red-light cameras, but passed the ban anyway, on a 4-1 vote.
Councilman Joe Brown opposed the law, saying he wanted to see additional information about the effectiveness of the cameras.
