In Honor of Presidents Day

Local cartoonist gives his take on the holiday that we celebrate every year on the third Monday in February.

(Editor's note: Thanks to reader Dale Luther, a local editorial cartoonist who sent this cartoon into Laguna Niguel Patch.) 

Dale Luther was a long-time Anchorage, Alaska, resident before moving to Southern California more than 10 years ago. 

“I have been drawing since I was around 5, and started drawing Garfield for friends in elementary school,”  he said. “I took cartooning lessons and other art classes through the years, and was the artist for my high school newspaper.”

In college at the University of Alaska Anchorage, he was the graphics editor, and then segued into being editorial cartoonist for the weekly statewide Alaska Journal of Commerce.

Since then his work has appeared in newspapers and business publications throughout Alaska and Southern California.

Dale is married and says he is passionate about his editorial work and loves to read, learn and make people laugh.
