Farewell to Old Laguna Niguel City Hall

Trucks at the current site mean the move to the new City Hall, at 30111 Crown Valley Pkwy., has begun.

Contract workers were spotted backing up moving trucks to move the contents from 27841 La Paz Rd. to the new Laguna Niguel City Hall at 30111 Crown Valley Pkwy. on Wednesday morning.

City Hall will close Thursday, Aug. 25, for the move from noon to 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Monday, Aug. 29, from 8 a.m. to noon.

According to City Manager Tim Casey:

  • Friday is the big move, with probably three trucks and 23 supervisors, drivers, movers.
  • There are about 1,000 boxes, crates and carts.
  • Estimated cost of the move is $15,000.

“It’s been a long planning and building process, but we’re almost there.  We’re looking forward to serving Laguna Niguel residents and businesses from this beautiful new community facility," Casey said. "I’m 95 percent pre-packed and ready to go."

When asked if he was doing any of the heavy lifting, he said, "At my age, I’ll leave the heavy lifting to the professional movers.”

City Hall will reopen for business at the new facility Monday, Aug. 29, at noon.

I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't clickRead More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.
