From the NRC --

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a public meeting Oct. 9 to discuss the status of its oversight of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station and respond to questions about current plant issues.

The two-part meeting will be held between 6 and 9:30 p.m. at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Hotel, One Monarch Beach Resort, in Dana Point, Calif. There is a nominal parking fee.

The first part of the meeting will be a roundtable discussion on topics of significant public interest. The second part of the meeting will be a question and answer session between the NRC and the public on topics related to SONGS and the NRC’s regulatory process.

Representatives for the roundtable are being chosen by the NRC in consultation with local interest groups. Members have not been chosen yet.

The NRC is making arrangements to webcast the meeting and will provide additional details at a later date.

“We want to provide members of the public with an opportunity to get their questions answered on a broad range of topics related to San Onofre,” said Region IV Administrator Elmo E. Collins. “We think the roundtable discussion along with an open question and answer session will provide people with a means of doing this.”

Hundreds of stories, photos and videos in chronological order detailing the history of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station over the last two years are available here at our Patch topic page.

I hit enter in the comment and it posted - I wasn't done! Why would it post if you don't clickRead More "post comment"?! I read one story and the scrunched up left placement gave me a headache. The ad column on the right is way too big - too wide. If they made that smaller, swapped the "board" column and the news (so the news was in the middle), I think it would be easier to read.

With the ad block on the right and the boards info in the middle, it feels like the news part isRead More scrunched too far to the left.
