Bids for Crown Valley Widening Now Open

Laguna Niguel's City Council awards the consulting contract for Crown Valley Parkway widening project to Caltrop Corp. Bids opened Wednesday.

All items that were listed on the Feb. 16 agenda of the Laguna Niguel City Council were approved the same evening.

Resurfacing of LaPaz Road

A contract to resurface a small portion of LaPaz Road near Crown Valley Parkway was approved.  The contract has been awarded to R.J. Noble Co. for $172,357. According to City Manager Tim Casey, the project should start within 30 days and will last for less than a month.

Crown Valley Widening Project

The City Council approved an agreement with Caltrop Corp. to provide professional consulting for the Crown Valley widening project. The city opened bids for this contract at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The Crown Valley widening project will improve access to I-5 via Crown Valley Parkway.  The city will share the costs of the project with the city of Mission Viejo. Casey said he is hopeful that the current economic conditions will keep costs for the project down.
