Woman Finds Ex-Lover, Allegedly Drunk and Camped Out on Sofa

A 53-year-old man was arrested in Laguna Niguel for disobeying a domestic relations court order, according to authorites after the woman found him in her home. Despite the report, crime is down in the city.

A woman reported a former lover allegedy broke into her home at on Nov. 5, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

She told deputies when she arrived home at 10:25 a.m., she saw a window was broken and the man lying on her sofa, possibly drunk.

The man was arrested on suspicion of disobeying a domestic relations court order on the 30200 block of Pacific Island Drive.

Despite the alleged break-in, crime in Laguna Niguel is down, according to the city's 2012 community report card:

In 2010, the local crime rate decreased by three percent from the previous year. The city’s overall crime rate has decreased by 19 percent over the past fie years.

The years 2008 and 2010 reflected the lowest crime rates in the city’s history. Total crimes in 2006 were 106 and 101 in 2010, according to the report.

For example: 

Robberies in 2004 were 19, 2005, 15; 13 in 2006; 13 in 2007, 19 in 2008; 12 in 2009 and 10 in 2010.

Burglaries: In 2004, 142; 2005, 143; 2006, 118; 2007, 134;2008, 124; 2009, 110 and in 2010, 107.

Auto Thefts: In 2004; 44; 2005, 37; 2006, 42; 2007, 41; 2008, 33; 2009, 24; and in 2010, 30.
