Woman Assaulted Over Jewels

A rundown of calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff's Department from Oct. 22–25.

A woman at the Beachwood Mobile Homes park in Dana Point was assaulted after she caught her neighbor trying to steal her box of jewels. The woman said she was bloody and couldn’t get up off the floor. After police and medical assistance responded to the scene, the woman was transported to the hospital. The assault took place on Tues., Oct. 25, at 1:09 a.m. on the 34000 block of Doheny Park Road in Dana Point.

Here are more items from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department blotter. All incidents were reported within Laguna Niguel, unless otherwise noted. The following arrest information was supplied by the O.C. Sheriff’s Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Disturbance 5:03 p.m. Tuesday. 0 block of Peak Drive. A caller told police that his brother was sitting inside a vehicle and tearing things apart. The man then broke the vehicle’s window with his hand and left the scene.

Citizen assist — arrest made 2:02 p.m. Tuesday. 34100 block of the Street of the Ruby Lantern in Dana Point. After responding to a possible domestic violence on a spouse report, authorities arrested a 28-year-old mold restoration worker. The man was later released after posting bail.

Disturbance — arrest made 9:54 a.m. Tuesday. 24200 block of Avila Road. A transient was reportedly loitering around a pre-school’s dumpster off the cross streets of Niguel Heights Boulevard and La Paz Road. After responding to the scene, police arrested a 45-year-old laborer.

Disturbance — arrest made 11:06 p.m. Monday. Stonehill Drive/Del Obispo Street in Dana Point. A man was reportedly harassing customers for change at the AM/PM. After pulling an outstanding warrant, police arrested a 31-year-old man. He was later released on time served.

Vandalism report 2:48 p.m. Monday. 29900 block of Happy Sparrow Lane. Authorities received a report of Halloween decorations being destroyed.

Stolen vehicle 11:41 a.m. Monday. 0 block of Key West. A Silver Toyota Tundra was stolen off the cross streets of Avalon Cove and Orlando Court.

Disturbance 7:19 p.m. Sunday. 28100 block of Moulton Parkway. A 17-year-old boy called authorities and said his parents were blaming him for something he didn’t do. He claimed his mom had a knife in her hand, but the mother claimed she was using the knife while cooking.

Keep the peace — arrest made 8:06 a.m. Sunday. 30000 block of Tessier. A woman told police that her boyfriend would not let her sleep and she wanted him out. The authorities later arrested a 24-year-old man who worked in finance. The man was later released from custody because the district attorney refused to prosecute.

Traffic accident — arrest made 10:02 p.m. Saturday. Avery Parkway/Freeway 5. Police arrested a 28-year-old mechanic after responding to a single vehicle traffic accident at a local gas station. The man was later cited and released from custody.

Trespassing 8:38 p.m. Saturday. 29700 block of Niguel Road. A man was refusing to leave a site off Michelis Street and Running Deer Lane.

Traffic accident — arrest made 1:45 a.m. Saturday. Crown Valley Parkway/Pacific Island Drive. A dark colored four-door sedan crashed into the center divider between Club House and Pacific Island. The vehicle hit a tree and another vehicle. Upon arriving on scene, authorities arrested a 19-year-old barista. The woman was later cited and released from custody.
