The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint in Laguna Niguel on Friday, Dec. 30 from 6:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.
The checkpoints are part of a grant the sheriff’s department received from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety, and are set up to target drivers who are driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and / or driving a vehicle without a driver’s license.
Funding for this grant was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The goal of the program is to reduce the rate at which the citizens of Orange County are killed or injured.
Through implementation of these events, the Orange County Sheriff's Department hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage in each of our contract cities. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is committed to working hand-in-hand with the with its contract city partners in providing a safe environment for the motoring public.
