iPads Stolen at Gunpoint from Laguna Niguel AT&T Store; 2 Men Arrested

Accused of stealing a car in Laguna Hills, then iPads and iPods in Laguna Niguel, Timothy Bates, 25, and Albert Brown Jr., 26, were taken into custody Sunday at Mariners Church in Irvine.

Two men suspected of stealing a car in Laguna Hills and then robbing an AT&T store in Laguna Niguel at gunpoint were arrested at a church in Irvine, authorities said today.

Timothy Bates, 25, of Los Angeles and Albert Brown Jr., 26, of Hillcrest allegedly stole a 1989 Toyota Camry from outside a Laguna Hills residence, then drove to the business in the 27000 block of La Paz Road around noon where they're suspected of stealing iPads and iPhones, said Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The two men were tracked to Mariners Church in the 5000 block of Newport Coast Drive in Irvine, where they were arrested, Hallock said.

The gun used in the robbery has yet to be recovered, the deputy said.
