Power Pole Crash in Dana Point Stops PCH Traffic, One Critically Injured

A man crashed into a power pole Thursday morning, critically injuring himself and stopping traffic for hours on PCH in Dana Point near Palisades Drive, the Orange County Register said.

The driver was sent to the hospital after crashing around 9:38 a.m., the newspaper reports.

San Diego Gas and Electric workers will be replacing the broken pole, which has caused all lanes of traffic to stop in both directions this afternoon, according to the paper.

About 200 customers will be out of power while SDGE makes its repairs, a spokesperson told the paper. Power should be restored by 8 p.m., according to this online outage map.
